Brighton Peachey: Solo Adventures With Kids & Outdoor Safety Tips

This episode features Brighton Peachey, a mom to three boys, currently living in the woods of Maine. She's passionate about spending time in the outdoors with her family and has unique insight from her experience working in the ER and on Search and Rescue.

We talk about how the outdoors helped her in the postpartum period, going on solo adventures with her kids, homeschooling, and outdoor safety tips. Brighton also shares a harrowing personal story that highlights why being in a city is not necessarily safer than being outdoors. I really enjoyed this talk and was inspired by Brighton's strength, resilience, and empathic nature.

Mari Johnson

Hi, I’m Mari. A new-ish mother who lives abroad, thrives on travel, creativity, and the outdoors. I grew up in California, in a family that spent weekends hiking, swimming, and enjoying picnics on mountainsides. I currently live in New Zealand with my partner, Nick, and our son, where we enjoy much of the same activities. While I’ve done some adventurous things like solo traveling, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, and moving to the other side of the world, parenthood still feels like my biggest adventure yet. I hope to create a space where like-minded people can connect, learn, and grow together.
